Camp Pioneer is located 4.5 miles northwest of Hatfield, Arkansas on the Mountain Fork River and Two Mile Creek. The best approach to Camp Pioneer is from Highway 71.
To get to camp from Mena, Arkansas and points North: Travel south on Highway 71 approximately 6 miles to Potter Junction and then turn right (west) onto Route 375. Follow the Camp Pioneer signs to Camp.
To get to Camp from Hatfield, Arkansas and Points: Travel north on Highway 71 approximately 2 miles where you will see a large Camp Pioneer sign on the right hand (east) side of the highway. Turn left (west) at the sign onto CR 37 and follow the signs into Camp. UPDATE: Due to a recent accident, one of the bridges on this road is out of service at this time. We are unsure whether it will be reopened before Camp Pioneer 2016. If it is still closed, proceed North on Highway 71 to Potter Junction, and turn LEFT on Route 375, and follow the signs to Camp Pioneer.
From Dallas: Travel Interstate 30 East to New Boston, Texas. Take the exit for State Highway 8. You will see a Dairy Queen at the intersection. Turn LEFT onto Highway 8 and proceed toward Foreman, Arkansas. At the river, Texas Highway 8 becomes Arkansas Highway 41. Travel through Foreman, Horatio, and into De Queen, Arkansas on Highway 41, to the main 4-way stop. You will see an Exxon gas station, and a EZ-Mart Convenience Store on the corners. Travel straight through the intersection, at which point you will be on US Highway 71. Proceed as above. De Queen is a great place to stop for lunch. There is a McDonalds, KFC/Taco Bell, and several local restaurants as well.
